Farm – one of the places that excites not only kids but adults as well. It brings the hidden child in us and we just can’t stop ourselves from that wonderful experience we get when we visit a farm. Well….this farm that we visited isn’t the one with animals….it’s the one with plants, trees, and lots and lots of fruits and vegetables! We visited The Parkside Farm based in Enfield with our friends and our son who absolutely loved it. We booked our tickets online with a morning time slot. We purposely selected an early morning slot as we wanted to grab every opportunity of plucking the fruits and vegetables before they are all gone. And let me tell you we were not at all disappointed.
We started with strawberries as there were rows and rows of strawberries plants as soon as we entered the farm. I have never seen so many strawberries together in my life. They were bright red colour and looked so fresh. My little munchkin loved plucking them and putting them in his basket.

We had enough strawberries in our basket to last a few days……thanks to our little munchkin. We then moved on to Blackberries…and there were so many of them!!!

Our next stop were Beetroots. We love beetroots and like to include them in our diet whenever we can. Oh Yes, they are excellent choice of food as they have so much Iron in them.

We then moved onto the Sweetcorn field. There weren’t many however we manage to get four of them. Thanks to one of our friends, hah! People love sweetcorn it seems!

There were many other fruits and vegetables however we couldn’t cover all of it due to lack of time. We however enjoyed every moment of picking our own fruits and vegetables with our son on this lovely farm and able to add this place to our list of one of the favourite ones locally and of course take some of our picked stuff home to enjoy them.

It is such an awesome feeling to pluck something from the trees and have them fresh. A completely different sense of joy. At the same time, it also helps our little ones understand where do fruits and vegetables come from and how nature feeds us with food. It helps them to understand the importance of nature and that we should take care of this planet. We definitely look forward to revisit this place next summer and I believe it will be a ritual for us going forward to visit it at least once a year. Thank you Parkside Farm for a wonderful experience and our lovely friends on suggesting this place which we thoroughly enjoyed….
Hope you enjoyed reading this blog and I am now off to relish some strawberries…….
