And here we go. All excited for our trip to a new country we have never been before and ticking another one off our bucket list. This time its Austria!!! Particularly we are going to Innsbruck and added a bit of adventure into this trip. Yup! Adventure! We have dared ourselves to skiing and didn’t realise until the day….that it was our little man’s first Europe trip.

December 2023 has been very special for us. It is personally one of my favourite months of the year for various reasons including, the beautiful and chilly weather (sometimes with a hope of getting snow), its my birthday month, its the Christmas spirit we get to witness around us and generally we are approaching official holiday season of the year (so cant wait to log off work and have a lovely family time).

This was perfect way to kick start our Christmas with a much needed family holiday. We booked most of the things online before travelling to manage our budget. We got our flights from London Gatwick and landed Innsbruck in the afternoon, completely mesmerised with breathtaking views during landing. A perfect scenic view! I felt like, woah! This is heaven on earth! Whilst enjoying the views we took a taxi from Innsbruck airport straight to our hotel. There are buses that go as well but we had to make 2 changes so we decided to stick to a convenient option.

We checked into a beautiful and cosy hotel and we were lucky to get an scenic view from our room.

We changed and explored the nearby area within walking distance of the hotel.

Next 2 days was amazingly adventurous for all of us. We took skiing lessons and believe me, my kiddo had a blast! I was struggling a bit at first but when you get the hang of it, you enjoy it! Specially for kids! My little boy was nearly like the pro towards the end of his last lesson.

Following day was no less fun than the previous days!  We went to top of Innsbruck! We saw the Jewel of Alps! And they are Gorgeous! The cable car experience and the views are not something you should ever miss if you are in Innsbruck. The top of snowy mountains and the fun we had throwing snow balls at each other, sledging with kids, showing them an igloo created such priceless moments for us.

I believe we covered a lot in four days with skiing, visiting Christmas markets, cable car experience,  this cool train which starts as a kind of cable car and then turns into a train once we are on ground, sledging on top of Innsbruck, witnessing the beauty of snowy mountains from close and creating so many fun memories as a family, this truly is on the list for one of the recommended places to visit once in a lifetime!
