Drive Thru Winterfest!

Who ever imagined there would be times when we will have to use ways like drive thru to go to Santas grotto? We were lucky enough to have atleast the option of taking our little one to Santa’s grotto as we wanted to do something special for his upcoming birthday. We booked our tickets in advance for the first day drive thru that was available. There was also a farm in the vicinity that we could visit if we wish to as the cost was included in our tickets.

On the day, we arrived at Aldenham Country Park which is just a few minutes drive from our place. When we reached, there was staff at entrance to welcome us and check our tickets. We then drove thru the path marked with signs and clear instructions on following social distancing measures. The wait was just about five minutes and we saw a massive covered area. When we went in…there was a little projector with a movie on as if we are driving thru along with Christmas songs playing in the background. Shlok was super excited looking at all the decorations, Christmas tress and the songs playing in the background. We then went further in our car to meet Santa. We spent almost five minutes talking to Santa and his elf who then gifted Shlok with a little present (Soft toy – Sheep). Shlok loved seeing Santa as it was all very mesmerising for a two year old who have been hearing about Santa from past few weeks and looking at songs on TV and reading books on Santa.

We then parked our car in the parking area and visited the farm which is also a part of Aldenham Country Park. We were given animal food to feed them. We all enjoyed visiting the farm animals and feeding them. It was first time ever, we took Shlok to a farm and I must say it was all well worth it!

I really want to appreciate the effort taken by the staff at Aldenham Country Park for providing us with such wonderful experience along with keeping all the social distancing measures in place. We are now looking forward to visiting the park again during summers as they have more than 100 Akers of parkland and woodland area along with glamping and camping options. I bet Shlok would really love that! Below are the details of Aldenham Country Park if you fancy visiting the place anytime this summer…I am sure you will enjoy it thoroughly.
