Chaat time!

Chaat means savoury snack in India. Many places in India specially metropolitan cities are well known for their Chaat which is mostly street food. It basically means there are stalls on the street selling food which is so delicious and full of flavours. Mumbai is one of the places which is packed with street foods available in almost every area. Having been in London one of the things I missed most about India and particularly Mumbai is it’s street food.

With the lockdown I was able to do many things which included of course starting to write this blog and also spending a good amount of time in kitchen. Yes, both me and my Rakesh love to cook. His speciality is Indian non vegetarian food and mine is Indian vegetarian food. Today I was craving for this particular street food so I called up my dear momma…Yup, Mom is the only source providing me with all these amazing recipes to try and believe me they turn out to be just perfect and super yummy thus satisfying me cravings every now and then.

This particular street food I am referring to is called Sev Puri. It was originated in Pune, Maharashtra and is one of my favourites. Its very easy to make at home specially when you want something quick and yummy at the same time. I try to make quick and simple recipes for lunch during lockdown as I am working from home and in rush sometimes.

Both me and Rakesh thoroughly enjoyed it while remembering our good old days back home. Sharing some pictures and the recipe if you fancy eating some home made India street food. Try it and let me know in the comments section if you liked it 🙂
